Our People

David Carl Moffat, CPADavid Carl Moffat, CPA left a promising career in theatre when bitten by the accounting bug. As a result he is among the rare few who are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as Actors Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. He earned degrees in Political Science and Accounting from Southern Methodist University and a Masters degree in theatre from Northwestern University. Excellence in his studies was rewarded with membership in the national accounting honor fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi.

A former educator in Texas, California and Illinois, he has also produced, directed, designed and/or performed in productions in those states and more. His deep respect for the creative process has encouraged artists in all fields to request his services as a tax and accounting professional. His annual tax seminars draw professionals from a variety of fields and a continual stream of them request services from the firm.

He learned the retail business beginning at the age of eight working in his father's business. He actually began his accounting career while an SMU student working there. That hands-on experience gives him a sturdy foundation when helping new or established businesses deal with their array of daily choices.

His education also included eight years of competetive debate plus coaching debate at Sunset High School for three years. The debating skills thus acquired have proven indispensible when dealing with IRS tax examiners and collection agents over the years.

Community Service:
An elected precinct chair during the 80's and 90's, he was chosen as a delegate to numerous Texas political conventions as well as the National Convention in 1992. He served as campaign treasurer for both Craig McDaniel campaigns for the Dallas City Council.
